Hotel Hari Niwas Palace, former residence of Maharajas of Jammu & Kashmir, is a Heritage Hotel,is open to facilitate guest occupancy, is situated at the edge of the city on the higher slopes of river Tawi. The Hari Niwas Palace has been recently renovated refurbished. Spread over 50 acres of land bank with lush green lawns, gardens and fountains, which over looks the Tawi river valley.
The palace is an art-deco structure, which was converted into a heritage hotel in the year 1990.Hari Niwas Palace boosts of 40 tastefully decorated rooms with Victorian furinture and all modern amenities.Twisting staircases open up to rooms at every level. Each room is decorated differently and is unique in its layout. Within the complex exists the magnificent Amar Mahal Palace Museum with a well stocked library for history buffs. This was conceived by Maharaja Amar Singh of Jammu and Kashmir.
